We all have tattoo goals and they say every tattoo must have a story behind it. No, it’s not true. Only some people have stories. Other just get a tattoo for the sake of it or because they like the design! And there’s nothing with that. But what we need to remember is that they are permanent! So please think before you get one! There are some situations when you should never get a tattoo. For example, when you are drunk, and your equally drunk friend convinces you that getting a random tattoo across you chest is a brilliant idea. If, you would have been in a sane state, then you might have ruled out this idea. But, of course, now you don’t because you are drunk out of your wits and you will wake up next day, hating yourself! And for God’s sake, do not get you’re boyfriend’s/girlfriend’s name tattooed! Trust me, there’s is nothing more you will regret. It is the worst of all tattoo ideas!
On the flip side however, are conservative parents. They will ruin every plan you make with their rules and ideals. For most people a tattoo symbolizes something you are really passionate about, something you believe in, something that motivates you or something that makes your life worth living. It could be a quote, a symbol or something completely random. As long as you are in your right state of mind and decide that you will not regret getting it, don’t let anyone tell you any differently.
Having said that, here’s a list of tattoos I am definitely going to get done!
- An anchor around my left ankle.
Okay, so this is not completely my idea. I stole it from my best friend when we were discussing tattoo ideas, and I loved it so much that I added it to my list! It will remind me to be down-to-earth. Being humble and grounded even after reaching the zenith of success is something very important, hence this tattoo.
- A ‘Mischief Managed’ tattoo with three sets of footprints on my back.
Yes, I am a Potterhead! The Harry Potter series is one of my favorites like any other 90’s kid and if I get only one tattoo, this will be it!
- A quill diagonally across my right side.
Writing has always been a part of me, though I have only started to show what I write to the people around me. I am very emotional by nature with a lot to express and words are the highest form of expression. So I know I will never regret it.
- A small Swallow on my left shoulder.
Now, Swallows have a lot of different meanings to a lot of different people. To me however, it signifies freedom. The freedom to go where I want, to do what I want, to look around with nothing to worry about. Being a very free-spirited person, I hate to be locked down. This will also motivate me to move ahead and never stop in life.
- The ‘Deathly Hallows’ symbol right beneath my neck.
When I said I was a Potterhead, I was dead serious. I can practically recite all the books! So how can I not have a tattoo of the Deathly Hallows!
- An artistic moon on my back.
Well the reason for this is kind of deep. I , like most teens, am a night owl, and some nights even if I am super tired I can’t fall asleep because my sleeping schedule is all messed up. And on those night I feel a connection with the moon. Like me it has flaws and like me it is out shined by someone else everyday. Yet, it is there every single night to guide us through the darkness. So, getting a moon tattoo will be very motivational for me.
